GST roll out deferred to July 1 as stalemate over administration continues in 9th meet of GST council today

The stalemate over administration of GST continued on Monday, with some states adamant on their demand to control tax payers with up to Rs 1.5 crore turnover.

The 9th meeting of the all-powerful GST Council, headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, failed to break the deadlock over distribution of powers between the Centre and states to administer the goods and services tax (GST), making April 1 target for its rollout all the more difficult.

According to media reports, the GST roll-out has been deferred to July 1
