ABVP begins ‘Save DU’ amrch from North campus; heavy security deployed
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is holding ‘Save DU’ march at the Faculty of Arts at North Campus in Delhi University on Thursday. As the day progresses, the march will cross six prominent colleges under the Delhi University, including the Ramjas College.
The march, starting at 12:30PM from North Campus, will go to the Vishwa Vidyalaya metro station, Khalsa college, Miranda House college, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Daulatram College, Ramjas College, Faculty of Law, according to reports.
The protest march will then culminate near Swami Vivekanada’s statue at the Faculty of Arts. ABVP has expressed hope that the peace will remain peaceful.
Delhi Police has provided heavy security arrangments to ensure no violent incidents take place during the rally.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Gurmehar Kaur, who was caught in the eye of the storm after her controversial message about ABVP and Indo-Pak disputes, has reportedly clarified that she has no intention or ambitions in politics and does not wish to be dragged into the matter anymore.
“I just gave my opinion, and I never expected the whole thing to take such a turn. I had a really bad time. I am not in a state to talk about it, and I cannot take it anymore,” Kaur told a national daily.
