Pak militant Abu Zarrara killed in Poonch gunfight: Army

Army on Tuesday identified the Pakistani militant killed in an ongoing gunfight with security forces in the higher reaches of Surankote sub-division in J&K’s Poonch district as Abu Zarrara also known as Abu Zar.

An Army spokesman while confirming Abi Zar’s killing in the encounter said that one AK assault rifle, four magazines, hand grenade “and other incriminating material” has been recovered in the ongoing operation.

The encounter broke out early this morning after security forces cordoned the area following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
