The Kandivali unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) has carried out a major drugs operation by raiding near Yari Road in Versova area of Andheri West, Mumbai. During this operation, the police have seized 765 grams of heroin from two accused, the international market value of which is said to be around Rs 3.82 crore. On the other hand, the Crime Branch Cell-4 has busted a major drug racket in Mira Road area of Thane district, which was buying and selling MD drugs commercially. MD drugs worth Rs 13 crore 61 lakh 38 thousand 480 were seized in this operation. 10 accused have been arrested in this case.
The police have taken both the accused into custody in the Kandivali drug case and are investigating further. According to the officials, other persons related to the drug supply chain are also being sought in this case.
10 accused arrested in Mira Road case
According to the information given by the police in the Mira Road case, a raid was conducted on a house in the Chheda Adarsh Building area of Mira Road East on April 4, 2026. During this operation, MD drugs weighing 1 kg 324 grams, worth approximately Rs 2 crore 66 lakh 17 thousand 280, were seized from the house of Mrs. Firdos Arbaaz Qureshi. Investigation revealed that the drugs belonged to her husband Arbaaz Vakil Qureshi.
In this case, a case has been registered at Nayanagar police station under sections 8(a), 21(a), 22(a) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. After this, the Crime Branch Cell-4 took over the investigation and carried out raids in Mumbai, Mira Road and Gujarat and arrested 10 such accused one after another. A total of 6 kg 773 grams of MD drugs were seized from the accused and its market value is more than 13 crores, the police said. Along with this, 255 liters of chemicals required for making MD drugs have also been seized.
The arrested accused include Arbaaz Qureshi, Moiz Khan, Armaan Rain, Sunil Yadav, Mohammad Wasim Sheikh, Irfan Kudia, Mohammad Arafat Ansari, Khalda Ansari and Akash Yadav. This operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik, Additional Police Commissioner Dattatray Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doifode and Assistant Police Commissioner Madan Ballal. Police Inspector Pramod Badakh, in-charge of Crime Detection Branch, Cell-4, and his team made this explosive operation successful.
